      Living* In 1861 Henry was living at Paxton, Worcester County,
      Massachusetts.  
      Occu1861* At the time of his enlistment in the 15th Massachusetts
      Volunteer Infantry, in 1861, Henry gave his occupation as
      clerk.  
      15th_Mustr On 12 Jul 1861 Henry mustered into service with the
      15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry as a Sergeant-Major, being
      credited to the quota of Paxton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
      He was 19 years, 8 months and 20 days old.  
      Mil-Promo On 23 Dec 1861 Henry was promoted to
      Sergeant-Major.  
      Mil-Wound* He was wounded on the thigh on 17 Sep 1862.

      enumerated in the 1880 US Federal census in 1880 at Grand Haven,
      Ottawa County, Michigan, where is a Clerk & Sec Mb Co. Also
      enumerated -- Emma H. TIBBITS, sister-in-law, a school teacher,
      single, 31, b. MI; Charlotte O. TIBBITS, mother-in-law, a widow,
      55, b. Vermont, and Anna MC MAY, 23, b. Holland, a servant. 
      
      Census1890V* Henry Grove Bigelow was enumerated in the 1890 US
      Federal census, Veteran's Schedule in Jun 1880 at Muskegon,
      Muskegon County, Michigan, as having served in the 15th
      Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, as a musician in Company D,
      where he was shot through the pelvis and the wound still opens
      frequently.  
      Census1900* He and Clarissa Eva Tibbits were enumerated in the
      1900 US Federal census on 12 Jun 1900 at Muskegon, Muskegon
      County, Michigan, where he is a bookkeeper, and they live in their
      own home. Of their two children, only daughter Mary is still
      living.  
      (Witness) Event-Misc Henry Grove Bigelow was a witness when
      William Gardner Waters was was present at the 40th Regimental
      Reunion. 
      Commissary sergeant W. G. WATERS, who had planned his trip from
      Santa Barbara, Cal., especially to attend the G. A. R. encampment
      at Minneapolis and the reunion of the 15th Massachusetts regiment,
      was the next speaker, and he told
      of how hot it was in Minneapolis during the encampment, and said
      that at
      that encampment he had the pleasure of meeting comrade Henry
      BIGELOW, whom
      he had not seen before in 43 years.
