James W. 6 BIGELOW

16A54.A    James W. 6 BIGELOW, son of Samuel 5( Hopestill 4 , Ebenezer 3, Joshua2, John1), and Elizabeth (FULLER) BIGELOW, was born 25 May 1800 at Milo, Yates county, NY. James married Sarah Leah Van Gorder about 1820. They lived many years in Schuyler county, NY. He died at Tyrone 16 (06?) August 1873 (age 73), and she on 01 October 1890. Both are buried at Altay Baptist cemetery. We have few records of James' family, but from the several censuses, and from the county history, suggest the following as their children:

16A54.A3     Charlotte Jane, b ca 1827.

16A54.A4     Urlonzo L., b ___ 1832; d ____ 1891; (see note2)

16A54.A5     Roxana b ca 1834.

16A54.A6     James M., b ca 1835; m Elizabeth Dieter; res Wayland, NY 1880; 5 children.

16A54.A7     Sarah Maria, b ca 1837.

16A54.A8     Samuel J. (called "Ell"), b 03 Nov 1839; d 04 Feb 1899; m 1882 Helen Weinhart.

16A54.A9     Melvina C., b ca 1843.
