Susannah ⁵ BIGELOW

16C56 Susannah ⁵ BIGELOW, daughter of Jabez ⁴(Eleazer ³,Joshua², John¹) and Deborah (KNOWLTON) BIGELOW, was born 22 August 1770 at Westminster, Worcester co, MA. She married, on 10 (27?) November 1788, Ezra Holden, born 15 December 1764, son of Abner and Elizabeth (Darby) Holden. He was twenty-four and she was eighteen. She was his first wife, and died 21 February 1798, having had six children. Ezra married (2) as per intention of 26 August 1799, Mrs. Elizabeth(Marean) Brigham, and had two more children. She died 18 May 1806, and Ezra then married, (3) Deborah (Bigelow) Hoar, sister of his first wife, and had one more child. (Ezra Holden, b 15 Dec 1764; d 28 Nov 1826)(see below)

I have extensive information on the Holden family and looking to add information about Susannah Bigelow. I have a lot of information including the lastest data from a reunion in Aug 1998 in Ransonville, NY where many family members still live. All of this Holden group are decended from Evander Holden, Grandson to Susannah Bigelow.

Most of the information about Ezra and Susanna that I have comes from The Holden Genealogy publish 1929. The problem is that it does not match your records. Your records show Ezra Shattuck Born Dec 17, 1810 as the son of Deborah Bigelow and Ezra Holden and Not Susanna. The birth date of Ezra Shattuck supports the conclusion that his mother must have been Deborah since Susanna died in 1798. Please let me know if you agree with my conclusions. If you do please correct the information that I sent you and I will update my records. I assume that your information on death dates is accurate , the birth date for Ezra Shattuck is the same for both our records. His middle name Shattuck was his grandmothers maiden name.
Does anybody have any contact with other decendant of Susanna or Deborah Bigelow?

My name is Beverly Barnhart. I have been researching my family, which through a long line leads back to Ezra and Deborah Bigelow Holden. Their son Ezra Shattuck married Elizabeth Davis, who is my 3 greats grandmother. I don't know if you are interested, but I have her birth and death date, as well as Ezra Shattuck's as well as pictures. Are you interested in these to have posted on your site? I also have pictures of Elizabeth's parents, Jason and Martha (Phillips) Davis, and Ezra and Elizabeth's children. (They had nine, only four living to adulthood.) I also have pictures that are unidentified, am curious if you know of anyone who might help me. They are somehow associated with the Holdens. I also have pictures of Joseph and Susan (Brown) Holden, who was Ezra Shattuck's brother.

Do you have pictures of Deborah and Ezra or any of their kids, besides Ezra S. and Joseph? Also do you have any info regarding Ezra and Deborah, besides birth and death info, maybe an obit (may be too soon for that) Anyway, if there is anything I can do for you, let me know.

Ezra Shattuck Holden was born December 17, 1810 in Westminster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Davis, born October 28, 1817 in Chesterfield, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, on February 23, 1835 in Youngsville, Sullivan County, New York. Her parents were Jason and Martha (Phillips) Davis. He was twenty-five, and she was eighteen. They had twelve children, of whom the first ten were born in Youngsville, Sullivan County.(see above)
