Cocoa Damselfish

 

This is a Cocoa Damselfish about 4 inches.  Photo by Rod  08 March 04.
Location Benwood, Key Largo in about 20 feet water.
Stegastes variabilis
 

Dark spot on upper base of tail usually present; Area around eyes dark. Sometimes confused with Beaugregory, which doesn't have the dark spot on upper base of tail. see beau83.htm
