Amos 5 BIGELOW

1555B.    Amos 5 BIGELOW,  son of Abraham 4( Thomas 3 , Samuel 2, John 1)  BIGELOW and his second wife Anna FISKE, was born 30 Sep 1760 at Weston, Middlesex county, MA. He was married there 9 Jun 1783 to Lucy SAVAGE, daughter of Samuel P. and Sarah (TYLER) SAVAGE. She was born 11 Nov 1761. Amos died Nov 1794, and Isaac Lamson was appointed guardian of Sally, Lucy, and Faith Bigelow on 6 Nov 1800, they being then under 14 years of age; Amos jr, being over 14 years of age, made choice of Isaac Lamson as his guardian. Amos' widow Lucy's death was reported in the Columbian Centinel as having occurred Oct 1834 at Saco, ME, aged 72 years.

1555B.l      Anna Haven, b 9 July 1784.

1555B.2    Amos, b 3 Feb 1786; went to sea and died 28 Oct 1808 at Kingston, Jamaica, as reported in the Columbian Centinel of 24 Dec l808; unmarried.

1555B.3    Sally, bapt 23 Mar 1787; living 1800.

1555B.4    Lucy, bapt 19 Dec 1790; a hand-written note in a library copy of Howe's Bigelow genealogy is to the effect that she married George Savage, born 6-1-1790, died 6-12-1857 Westford, MA, his first wife. He graduated Harvard 1812, and by Lucy had 6 children. His second wife was Lucy Bennett.

1555B.5t   Faith Savage, bapt 10 Nov 1793; d 27 Nov 1828 Boston, Suffolk, MA; m Col. Isaac Emery of Boston. 3 children.
