Emma Grace had gone west with her surviving triplet sister, Sarah Ellice, and she became governess in home of Dr. Beale.  During the Bear Flag excitement, she was advised to go to the fortified town of Sonoma. During the actual Revolution, she and James Cooper met and were married 1846 and lived at the "Blue Wing Hotel" where their first two children were born. They built a house in 1851.  They had 5 children in all before James Cooper met a tragic death.  See Bigelow Society Quarterly, "Forge," Jul 1999, Vol. 28, No 3, p. 45 about Daniel's family (R3324).

Dear Rod,
I really have been able to use the Descendants of Daniel Bigelow  web site in my geneological quest. It would help if it was updated and more complete. If you follow the Bigelow line to Emma Grace Bigelow who married Coleman Smith, then to their daughter, Catherine Amelia Smith who married Richard Purington LeGro, the look at their children the first error is Claude's name. You have it as Cland. Albert Leland LeGro married Golden Filer. Eva LeGro married first Lawrence Pressley (mayor of Santa Rosa and son of Confererate war hero and California Superior Court Judge, John Gotea Pressley) then when widowed she married Sherman. Claude married but I'd have to look up his wife's name. Which brings me to Bernice Ernestine LeGro. She is 15 years Eva's junior so some one didn't know about her. she was my Grandmother. She married Vernon Downs and they had Vernon LeGro Downs, Ruth Bernice Downs (Luttrell Dunn), Dorothy Downs (King). That brings it to my gneration. My mother was Dorothy Downs and my father was Robert J. King. How do I get back on the family tree?
I am attaching a limited family tree with some of the missing branches.
If I need to write to someone else please let me know.
Sincerely, Sharon King (Aeschliman)
