1736 in
Colchester,
New London, CT. He married (1) 01 September 1755 Hannah STRONG,
daughter
of Josiah
and Hannah (FULLER) STRONG; she was born 08 June 1734 Colchester,
and
died
there 27 September 1778. Hannah (STRONG)'s mother, Hannah
(FULLER),
was a descendant
of Edward FULLER who was a Mayflower
Passenger.
Ezra married (2) 06 May 1779 Lois HORTON. He was surveyor of
highways
in 1787.
About 1803 Ezra exchanged land in what is
now
Livingston
county, NY belonging to Gen. Wadsworth, with his own lands, and
removed
thither
with sons Ira, Enos, and Joseph.{It was called Ontario county.}ROD
visited
Geneseo
in the fall of 1997 and found no evidence of Ezra (5), either
in
graveyards or local historians.
Ezra drew up a will on 05 July 1806, and
it was
probated
Ontario county NY 15 Aug 1808. He was then a resident of Geneseo.
He
named
his son Joseph as executor, and mentions in addition, his wife
Lois,
sons
Ezra, Ira, Josiah, and Enos, daughters Hannah STAPLES and Lovina
"Rollo"
ROWLEY.

16314.3t Lovina, born 10 May 1761; died_______; married 09 Apr 1787 Zachariah ROWLEY. He served Revolutionary War, and NSDAR has records of some children.
16314.4t Ira, born 19 May 1763; died 29 Aug 1823 Livonia, Livingston co, NY; married 10 June 1784 Rachel ALLEN; resided NY after 1807; served Revolutionary War. 9 children.
16314.5t Josiah, born 05 May 1763; died 14 Jan 1838 Brookfield, Orange co, VT; married 16 Sept 1784 Lucy WATERS; resided Brookfield after 1786; was Rev. War soldier, and widow claimed pension. 8 children.

at Colchester.
16314.7 Enos, baptized 09 Oct 1776; resided NY 1816; m (1) _____ who died 13 Feb 1802, and m (2) 09 Mar 1803 Thankful FREEMAN.
16314.8 Joseph, baptized 09 Oct 1776 with brother Enos; resided NY 1810; m unknown date, Anna McCALL. There is a record of a Joseph Bigelow in the Geneseo area. This may be he? ROD 6/1998
16314.9 Calvin, baptized 16 Aug 1778; died 1778 Colchester.

I just located your article of Ezra 5 Bigelow
and I
believe
I am a direct decendant of him - information I received from Pat
Bigelow
in 1984. Where things tend to be a little gray is with one
of his
sons
(either Enos or Joseph). Do you have any additional
information
on
them? In particular, I am trying to determine which
gentleman is
the
father of Alfred Bigelow (1795-1860's). Alfred married
Susanna
Murlin
and lived in Kentucky.
Again, just wanted to say hello and I appreciated your
information/article on Ezra.
