James ⁴ BIGELOW

# 1625.   James ⁴ son of Jonathan ³ (Joshua ², John¹) and Elizabeth (BEMIS) BIGELOW, was born 17 May 1722 at Weston, Middlesex, MA. We find but little about his life, but find he had one child recorded in Worcester, and the Skowhegan, ME Bigelows, said their grandfather James jr. was born in "Westtown," which we take to be Weston; this James we assume to be James of Templeton, MA. Both his sons were raised by other families, from which we infer either the death or disappearance of James sr. in late 1740's.
From the birth of the child born at Worcester, we learn that his wife was Sarah ___ . Nothing more is learned of her.

16251t     James jr; private family records give 26 Jan 1742 and 1 Jan 1743 at Weston as his birthdate (cem. stone says b 28 Jan 1742), but Weston records do not support this; died 27 Jan 1829 Skowhegan, ME; served French and Indian War, also in Rev War; m 31 Oct 1763 at Brookline, MA, Mary Sawyer; res Templeton, MA until close of Rev, then to Skowhegan, ME, where an early settler. 10 children.

16252t     Enoch, b 2 Oct 1746 Worcester; d 1780's; m 28 Aug 1770 Bette Clemons; res Charlton, MA. Served Rev War. Bette was listed as head-of-family 1790 census and following. 1 known son.
