Moses 6 BIGELOW

16C23.2      Moses 6 BIGELOW, son of Ephraim 5 ( Elisha 4 , Eleizer 3, Joshua2, John1) and Lydia (JOHNSON) BIGELOW, was born 06 August 1788 in Westminster, Worcester county, MA. He left home as a young man and spent some time in Pennsylvania, though he appears on no census there. He emerged in Missouri after the War of 1812 with enough capital to invest in land, and put the extra out at interest.  He was described by his grandchildren "as an elegant, tall, silk-hatted Yankee with fine manners." He married on 02 August 1821 Mrs. Perthena (Bryan) Bryan. She was a widow, and daugher of Jonathan and Mary (Cashaw) Bryan, as well as a niece of Mrs. Daniel Boone. She was born 09 November 1793 in Kentucky, and the mother of 2 or 3 daughters by her first marriage. Moses died 21 July 1864 at Augusta, St. Charles county, MO, and Perthena on 01 April 1873. Both are buried in Bigelow cemetery.

16C23.22t     Rufus, b 27 May 1824; d - Aug 1908 Higgins co, TX; m 19 Sept 1848 Henrietta Everman. 10 children.

16C23.23t     Jerusha, b l7 June 1827; d 15 Jan 1879 St. Charles co, MO; m 07 Oct l845 Chiles E. Ferney. 11 children.

16C23.24      Abner, b 02 Apr 1829; no deathdate; m 02 Dec 1858 Hulda G. Logan. No issue.

16C23.25      Agnes, b 13 Aug 1831; d 29 Dec 1836 St. Charles co, MO;

16C23.26t     Phoebe, b 03 Sept 1835; d 10 Mar 1905 St. Charles co, MO; m 06 Sept 1853 Fortunatus Castlio. 11 children.
