Rufus 6 BIGELOW

14246.4    Rufus 6 BIGELOW, son of Thomas 5 ( Daniel 4, Daniel 3, Daniel 2, John 1) and Hannah ( LEWIS ) BIGELOW was born 21 Mar 1799 at Fitzwilliam, Cheshire county, NY. He early moved to New York state, where he married, on 20 Oct 1819, Huldah Knapp, daughter of John and Catherine Knapp. In the 1830's they left New York for Ohio with his parents, but by 1840 were living in Oakland county, MI. In the 1840's they moved again, and settled in Carmel township, Eaton county, near Lansing. Rufus was a teamster and laborer. He died in Carmel township 8 July 1881, after which his widow returned to Oakland county to live with her daughter Mrs. Hagadorn. She died there in 1892 (date not recorded), aged 88 years, 9 months, 12 days.

14246.45t      Catherine, b 12 Sep 1830 NY; m (1) Calvin Marvin, and (2) John L. Hagadorn; res Lyons. Wayne co, MI.

14246.46t      Melissa D., b 15 Oct 1833 NY; m (1) Oscar Davis, and (2) John Hawkins.

14246.47       Huldah, b 1837 MI; mentally retarded; there are probate records for her in Eaton Co, MI, 1881.

14246.48       Lafayette, b 28 Oct 1846 MI; d 28 Mar 1888 Eaton co, MI; a clerk, unmarried.
