Samuel 4 BIGELOW

# 1238.     Samuel 4, son of John 3 ( Jonathan 2, John 1) BIGELOW and Abigail (RICHARDS) BIGELOW, was born at unknown date, presumed NJ. He is listed as a taxpayer in 1783. he signed the Pequannoc Remonstrance at the opening of the Rev. War. He was a captain operating a privateer off the coast of New Jersey during the war. On 28 July 1767 he married Eleanor CONRON. They apparently lived near Burlington, NJ. We have no dates for either, but Samuel was born between 1720 and 1733 (the date of his father's death).

1783-84 tax list: NJ-Monmouth-Dover-Samuel Bigelow

With such scant information, we can offer little except the names of two children whose Bible records support that they were offspring of Samuel and Eleanor (CONRON) BIGELOW:

12381     Rebecca, b ___ ; d ___ Morgan co, OH (after 1830); m 21 Dec 1799 Thomas KIRBY; res Burlington, NJ; Jefferson and Morgan cos, OH; 9 children.
