I have been trying to place a piece of art dated 1916 and copyrighted by Brown & Bigelow and printed by them. Do you have any suggestions? It is
titled "Maid from o'er the sea".

We (Bill & Dianne Irwin)  are researching Bill's family tree.  His paternal grandmother was Bessie Bigelow.  Our records indicate that her 1st son,
William Bigelow Irwin, was born Oct. 8, 1906.  Your tree indicates that she wasn't married until 1908.  We can find nothing on the marriage, or on
William Simmons Irwin.  What is your source for the marriage date?
Thanks for your time,
Bill & Di Irwin

Hello Rod:
My name is Crescent Moegling and daughter of Barbara Royal Hardman and the grandaughter of Dean Royal Hardman of Seattle, WA. He died in 1985 but was related to the Bigelows who run the Bigelow Museum in Olympia, WA (Daniel and MaryAnne.) I am recently delving into some geneological backgrounds merely out of curiosity (it seems to be a bug!) and wanted to know what you knew of this lineage. Any information is greatly appreciated!

 Hi Rod,
Just browsing thru your pages again for anything new and saw the posting on the Baguley Hall page from Pamela Haeussler.
Since making contact with Pamela a while back (she replied to my visitor posting on the Bigelow pages) I have been in correspondence, on and off. It's been great to find another family member and I have passed to Pamela the family tree work done by her father, which my parents had (Irl Baguley visited Ted Baguley, my father, in 1963).  She was very pleased, I think!
I am also now in regular contact with two of Irl Baguley's sons, Norman & Keith, in Michigan and shall send them your web addresses, particularly
Baguley Hall etc.
All of this through yours and the previous work - keep it up!
Regards,
Richard Baguley

Rod,
I am researching Deidamia Dickerson, who married Joseph Bigelow. They are both buried in the Port Douglas Cemetery, just outside of  Keeseville, NY.
Deidamia b. 1834, d. 1916.
Joseph b. 1828 d. 1912.
I believe Joseph's father was Erastus Bigelow.
If you have any information about this family, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
I'm sure that is the same Joseph Bigelow, but I have a different date of death for him. We visited the area last fall, and I found their graves at Port Douglas Cemetery. According to the headstone, Joseph died May 3, 1912. On the same headstone is the info for Erastus- b. Nov. 5, 1800  d. Feb 24, 1862.
Do you have any further info about the children of Joseph and Deidamia? I'm desperately searching for living relatives who may have info about the Dickerson line.
Thanks
Cheryl Crouch

  Deidamia Dickerson (his wife) b. 8/21/1834, d. 3/27/1916

  Erastus Bigelow b. 11/5/1800, d. 2/21/1862
  Lavina Hann (Rann)(his wife) b. 3/24/1793, d. 12/23/1866

I am enjoying your web site. In fact, copying some of the details for a family member as I type. My family is descended from
Samuel Allen Bigelow. In fact Allen hasbeen the middle name of male family members for generations. Wanted you to know that family lore has it that Rachel Allen, Samuels mother, was the daughter of the great hero Ethan Allen. Have not confirmed it myself. Thought maybe you had run accross this in your research.

Dear Mr Bigelow:
Thank you very much for posting Hopestill Bigelow's letter to his son on your web site.
My ancestor, Samuel Thomas, was probably quite familiar with your ancestors, Samuel Bigelow (born 4/2/1763 Tyringham, MA) and his wife Elizabeth Fuller, as well as her parents Aaron and Rebecca Fuller.  According to a rather detailed revolutionary war pension file for Samuel Thomas, he was married to Phebe Halladay by Aaron Fuller on 6/9/1787 in Skenesborough (now Whitehall), NY.  His brothers John and James Thomas were witnesses to his wedding.  Their father died between 1771 and 1780, and their mother was "killed by Indians after the defeat of Burgoyne".  According to a deposition by James Thomas (the youngest of the three), Aaron Fuller became his guardian after his mother died.  There is also a deposition in the file by a Hannah Day (dated 1845) stating that Aaron Fuller was married to her father's sister.  I suspect that she may have been related to the three Thomas brothers, but the file does not specifically state that.
