Hi Rod, Thank you so much sending me the site for Edmund Baileys
parents.  I
am so glad the family kept using Bigelow as a middle name or I never
would
have been able to make a connection .  My husband is descended from
Mary's
daughter Catherine who married Henry More in Bethlehem.  I have been
looking
for 15 years for his parents and can't get anywhere with it.  I only
know who
he is NOT descended from. I have some pictures of the Bailey family
plot in
Racine where Catherine and Edmund are buried . Catherine's children
kept good
family records and I have newspaper clippings on deaths plus a date
book that
was kept by Catherines daughter.  I don't know how much information
you would
want on Catherines children and their spouses but I would be happy to
send
you all I have.  Thanks again for all of your help.  You made my day.

Hello Rod,

I am attaching two MS Word "RTF" reports and a GEDCOM file. In case
you
cannot view these I am also pasting the report text below.

Mary KNOWLTON's older brother, Elias, may be an ancestor of my wife.
My
wife's mother is a KNOWLTON. Right now I am trying to prove that Elias
had a
son Daniel who married Malinda (or Lendy) BLAKE. Some sources claim
that
this Daniel's father was Daniel and some claim Elias.

Let me know if you have questions about this.

Father:  Daniel KNOWLTON (AFN: Q8MD-JN)
Mother:  Abigail ALMY (AFN: Q8MD-KT)

Elias married Elizabeth Jennings about 1764 in Holliston, Middlesex
County,
Mass. Elizabeth was born in Holliston, Middlesex County, Mass.

They had the following children:

15      F       i.      Rebeckah Knowlton was born on 3 Oct

Framingham, Middlesex County, Mass.

16      M       ii.     Elisha Knowlton was born on 5 Jun 1767

20      M       vi.     Gilbert Knowlton was born on 6 Mar
1778 in
Holliston, Middlesex County, Mass.

21      M       vii.    Daniel Knowlton was born on 27 Jan
1780 in
Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 27 Sep 1860 in
Holden,
Worcester, Massachusetts. He was buried in 2nd Old Cemetery, Holden,
Worcester, Massachusetts.

Daniel was employed as Carpenter.

Holden, MA vital records list parents as Daniel and Elizabeth.
Gen. Reg
of
Framingham lists Elias and Elizabeth.
And then you have the entry in the Holden vital records of Daniel
son of
Daniel and
Elizabeth b. 17 Jan. 1780 in Framingham... I think that it is a typo
or
someone read it
wrong... but my best guess would be that this was Elias and
Elizabeth...

And then in the History of Framingham it gives children: Jesse and
Luther also... and
they are in the vitals as far as marriages, etc.
It might be a good idea to see if there is any probate for Elias
Knowlton... but I do
feel very good that Daniel born 17 Jan. 1780 is indeed the son of
Elias and
Elizabeth.
[Marilyn Labbe]

The death record in Holden also lists his parents as Daniel and
Elizabeth
Knowlton. I
am beginning to believe that I have him in the wrong family! Except:
In the
Genealogical
Register of Framingham Families by Temple it says Elias Knowlton, son
of
Daniel (1),
lived in Framingham, and in Holliston, where he died abt 1787.  He
married
Elizabeth
Jennings of Holliston. Children:  Rebeckah b. 3 Aug. 1765; Elisha b. 5
June
1767, Elias
b. 14 May 1769, DANIEL  married ______ Blake of Holden; Luther ,
Elizabeth,
Gilbert
and Jesse.

Daniel married Lendy Blake on 8 Sep 1803 in Holden, Worcester,
Massachusetts. Lendy was born in Dec 1789. She died on 30 Apr 1867 in
Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts. She was buried in 2nd Old Cemetery,
Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Recorded as Lendy, Malinda, Linda, Lenda.

        22      M       viii.   Jesse Knowlton .

Possibly married Polly Blake on 7 May 1794 and had a daughter "Betcy"
born
24 Oct
1794, as listed in the book Holden Births (image of page 59 from Carol
Miner). Same
Jesse and Polly had Harriet Newell on 9 Sep 1814 in Holden. Also
Leonard, b
30 May
1796, Polly, b 19 Dec 1797, Sukey (daughter), b 5 Oct 1799.

I am compiling an extensive book on the subject of coach lace. I have gather guit a bit of information from the book "A
Century of Carpet and Rug Making in America" by Bigelow-Hartford Carpet Company published 1925. I was able to get
about four photos from the Bigelow-Sanford of old coach lace samples. I am currently getting some photos from the Clinton
Historical Society, Clinton, MA of some old coach lace samples they have. I also have a photo of the loom model that E.
B. Bigelow patented for making coach lace. Are there any family members that have coach lace samples made by the
Clinton Company? I would like to be able to get photographs and document and samples.
