Bigelow, was born 25 September 1917 Wilmington, DE. He married on
02 August 1942 Roberta May Gwaltney. She was born 12 June 1922 in Petersburg,
VA. Russell died 15 October 1990 Westbury, Nassau co, NY, and buried North
Wolcott cemetery, Wolcott, NY. He contributed much information about this
family to the Bigelow Society before his death in 1990. I recently received
from our Treasurer, John C. Bigelow, a menu from Bigelow's Seafood.
It appears that Russell E. is the Russ Bigelow who founded this restaurant
in 1939. Westbury, where he died, is less than 10 miles from the Restaurant
site.
