Obituary: Vickie Cook Bigelow
    Vickie Cook Bigelow 1953 ~ 2008  Vickie Cook Bigelow passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on February 11, 2008. She was born in Aberdeen, MD, on August 22, 1953 to Rulon and Geraldine Cook. Vickie received her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting at Sonoma State College in Santa Rosa. She later attended Brigham Young University and studied medical dietetics. Vickie married William Bigelow in 1979 in Oakland California; their marriage was blessed with six children. Vickie was a true friend to her six children, and gave them her time, her attention, and her love. Her parenting motto was to be kind and firm. Vickie valued her family, friends, children, reading good books and continuous education. Vickie created wonderful scrapbooks of each of her children's lives, and she loved to organize things. She took pride in her kitchen and created family traditions around special meals. She was particularly well known for her delicious pies. She was also well known for her contagious giggling as she found humor in everyday life. She had boundless energy and loved gardening, walking, hiking, bike riding and running. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and served in many church positions. Her life demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her family, church and friends. She is survived by her grandmother Trudy Adair; parents, Rulon and Geraldine Cook; husband, William; siblings: Melanie (Rick) Daniels, John (Kathy) Cook, Marianne Petersen, Cindy (Ty) Pforsich, Denise (Ken) Martini, Jason Cook, and Jeremy Cook; children: Melanie (Shane), Daniel (Britni), James, Benjamin, Joseph (Jessica), and Stephanie; and granddaughter, Blithe (Daniel and Britni). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Riverton South Stake Center, 12681 S., 3600 W., Riverton, UT. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery, Hyde Park, UT at 4 p.m. Online Condolences: www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
