Enchantment of the Seas
The Bigelow Society
is pleased to announce…
We’re going on a cruise!
To All Members and Friends of The Bigelow
Society:
February 15, 2014
A number of your officers and directors met in
Melbourne, Florida the evening of February 12, 2014 to share ideas for
the society and plan an activity to attract as many members and friends
of the society as possible. It was decided that we should
plan a mid-winter cruise. We hope you will make every effort to
join us for what we expect will be a delightful and memorable
experience for The Bigelow Society.
Your newest Director, Barbara Sharp-Bond of
Ottawa, Canada, has spearheaded the effort to bring us together on
Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas for a 4
night Bahamas cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida on Monday,
February 23, 2015 and returning Friday, February 27,
2015. Think no snow, warmth, sunshine, fun, good food, and
good company! A synopsis of Barb’s planning follows:
Hello All,
I have contacted Royal Caribbean (RC) and have
booked/confirmed the following particulars for our 4 night Bahamas
cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral on Monday, February 23, 2015 and
returning on Friday February 27, 2015:
1. Our Bigelow Society
Group ID# is 2510747. This number must be given
when you book your room in order to obtain the quoted rate as well as
the room and group credits noted below.
2. The phone number to
call RC for booking a room is 1-800-465-3595. Tell them you are
with The Bigelow Society Group.
3. We need 8 rooms booked
to get a $50 per room credit. And that means 2 people per room. If
there is only one person for a room that person will need to pay the
costs for two people. If you are by yourself and wish to
share a room please let us know. We will try to connect you with
a person of the same gender who is looking to share a room.
4. On February 13th I
reserved 4 large ocean view G1 category rooms (room numbers are (4044,
4046 taken), 4068, 4070) and 5
inside L category rooms (room numbers 4051, 4053, 4055, 4057, 4059) all
on deck 4 and in the middle of the ship for The Bigelow
Society. Note that these 9 rooms on are deck 4 and are reserved
only until March 14, 2014 at the following prices:
Inside (L) rooms are
$309 + $74.72 taxes and fees = $382.72 per person (which is $767.44 per
room for two people. Note that even if only one person per room you
still need to pay $767.44.)
Ocean view (G1) rooms are
$349 + $74.72 taxes and fees = $423.72 per person ($847.44 per room).
After March 14, 2014 people can still book those
rooms, or any other available rooms, but the price will be the going
rate at the time you book. RC has guaranteed this rate to us
until March 14, 2014 which is only 30 days from now. EVERYONE
INTERESTED SHOULD BOOK ASAP. Just phone RC and state The
Bigelow Society group ID number, and you will get the quoted rate and a
$50 per room credit. You may view the ship layout to check
room location at the following site: http://www.cruisecritic.com/enchantment-of-the-seas-deck-plans/dp/
5. The $50 room credit can
be used for purchases on board the ship on any room that we book,
either within this 30 day booking period or after it. The
credit will be granted for any booking, not necessarily the rooms that
I have reserved. I thought that I would lock in some rooms in the
middle of the ship and at a good price, but you have to book
and pay the $200 deposit per room before March 14, 2014 to get the
prices and credits noted.
6. The ship is the
Enchantment of the Seas, sailing out of Port Canaveral. The
nearest major airport is Orlando, and there are shuttles from Orlando
to Port Canaveral. Rental cars are also available at both
locations. Vehicle parking is available at Port Canaveral for
very reasonable rates.
7. I have given RC my name
as the primary contact, and Don Bigelow as the secondary
contact. I can be reached via email at sharpbond@rogers.com or
613-599-4344. Don can be reached at dbig42@gmail.com or
941-761-9240.
8. For every 8 rooms
that are booked (and paid for) the group will receive a $199 credit or
discount to be shared however we wish.
Maybe we could donate this to The Bigelow Society.
9. The website for RC
is www.royalcaribbean.com
10. They have meeting
rooms that we can use for free.
Hope we will be able to have lots
of bookings and a great annual meeting in February 2015.
Please book soon. Cheers
Barbara
