Hiram 7 BIGELOW



16167.32      Hiram 7 BIGELOW, son of Nahum 6 ( Simeon 5 , John 4 , Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Mary (GIBBS) BIGELOW, was born at Lawrenceville, Lawrence, IL on 20 May 1829. His father had suffered much by being a Mormon in IL but was able to hold his family together and was in UT as early as 1850. Two of Hiram's sisters became wives of  Brigham Young: Lucy and Mary Jane. The latter was divorced from Brigham and married four more times between 1852 and 1868. (See The Bigelow Family Genealogy, Vol I, page 306). As to Hiram, he married on 12 December 1856 at Provo. Provo. UT, Martha Mecham. She was the daughter of Moses and Elvira (Derby) Mecham and was born at Columbus, Adams, IL on 23 February 1839. Hiram was a farmer and resided in Provo for many years and later moved to Springerville, AZ. He died at Webb, Cochise, AZ on 20 February 1916. His widow died at Patagonia, Santa Cruz, AZ on 23 December 1924.

I was tryinig to get to that URL and got the oops message....    But maybe this is serependitous....I am trying to get documentation (for DAR membership) on the marriage date of  Hiram Bigelow and Martha Mecham - 12 Dec 1956.  Can you help me?   I'm likewise trying to get a marriage date for Moses Mecham and Elvira Derby in 1827; don't suppose you can help on that too?     Thanks a lot.   JCall
