Amelia 8 BIGELOW


15336.513    Amelia 8  BIGELOW, dau of  Hiram 7 ( Cornelius 6 , Paul 5 , Cornelius 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Nancy (C____) BIGELOW, was born about 1815 at Chatham, Arbenteuil, Quebec. She married David Newton, Sr., on 15 December 1835. David was born about 1808 and was the son of Caleb Newton an early settler in Buckingham, Quebec. Amelia died prior to 1861 as David listed as a "widower" on that census. David was living as late as 1881.

15336.5133t    David, jr. Bigelow, b ca 1842; d 03 March 1879 Buckingham; m 29 March 1868 Christy Ann Bigelow (15336.5241); res. Buckingham; 5 children; she m (2)1879 Matthew Lonsdale and had 4 children; she m (3) Oliver Smith, had 1 daughter.

15336.5135     Amelia Newton, b ca 1845; d before 1881; m 10 April 1862 Oliver Smith; res. Buckingham; 1 child; Oliver m (2) Mary O'Brien and (3) Christy Ann Bigelow) Newton Lonsdale.

15336.5136     Orilla (or Aurelia), b ca 1849.

15336.5137     Elmeda, b ca 1855; was living with Hiram 7 and Mary in 1861 after her mother's death; she d 18 April 1875 unm., but leaving an infant son, b in March; he adopted by Elijah and Aurelia (Bigelow) Bigelow, but retained his name Elisha Newton.
