1592C.276 Clinton F. ⁸ BIGELOW, son of Gideon ⁷ ( John ⁶ , Amasa ⁵, Isaac ⁴, Isaac ³, Samuel ², John¹) and Caroline (EATON) BIGELOW, was born at Pugwash, Cumberland, NS on 16 November 1861 and on 07 June 1883 he married Mary Jane Mattinson, at Cape Blomidon, NS, who was born 15 June 1863 at Mt. Pleasant, NS, daughter of William and Kezie (Aylward) Mattinson. This family lived in Centerville, NS. He died on 26 April 1934 at Canning, NS and she died 06 November 1946 at Cape Blomidon, NS. According to the Kings Co Cemetery records, his middle initial is F. He is buried in Habitant cemetery, (stone #519) which is between Canning and Kingsport. (see below)

I don't see them in the 1901 census, so I presume they were born after April
1901. Do you know anything more about these two children? Are you
confident that they are, in fact, children of Clinton & Mary Jane?

Let me know which children are new to you, and I'll send you whatever I have
on them (although I don't have much on most of them).
I'm writing about Earle. Although he is not listed on your web site, I
wonder if you happen to list him in your database. If so, was he born in
1914 and married Dorothy Brown (1915-1984). Dorothy Brown's obituary lists
a surviving husband (Earl Davison)... but I don't know if this is Earle
Davison, son of Ethel Janet Bigelow.
What are your thoughts?

Kingsport.
I don't have much to add to what you have for him, but there are descendants of
his living in this area.

The obit of his son, James C, who died in 1977, aged 84, lists two brothers
surviving, Edgar, Norwood, Mass., George, Cape Cod, Mass., and sister Ethel, (Mrs
William Davison) Canning., also predeceased by a brother, (name not given,
probably William John, known as Bill or Will) and three sisters, Myrtle, Ethel and
Edith. James and wife are buried in Blomidon cemetery.
That obit also states that James was born in Beckwith, Cumberland Co, NS.
The Centreville, NS, mentioned is the one in that same county, I believe. There
are at least 3 Centrevilles in NS.
Will's son, Dwight, known as Skip, lives in this area, and can probably help you
with more information. Tom Taylor had quite a chat with him before the reunion.
Skip's address is Canning RR#1, B0P 1H0. He lives on part of the property which
his grandfather originally owned, most of which is now the Blomidon Park. Or if
you wish his phone number: 902 582 7225. I could talk with him, but I'm sure you
would enjoy the communication yourself, as he is quite interesting, when you get
him wound up.
You questioned the location of Palmeter's Home: it is actually at the west end of
Kentville, nearly to Coldbrook. It has a different name now, Evergreen Home for
Special care.
If I find more, I will pass it on.
