re:  15923.778D     Jessie L. (female), b_____March 1888. (youngest child of Lewis A.(8).)

Jessie Lorena Bigelow was my grandmother.  Her date of birth was 10 March 1888; date of death 25 December 1962, in Alexandria, VA.  She and her youngest son, Samuel Benjamin Miller, were accidentally asphyxiated by gas from a faulty heating stove in his mobile home.  He was on leave from duties at the Pentagon where he was stationed in the US Navy, Boatswain Mate 2nd Class.
She was married to widower Dr. Henry Ernest Miller of Belleville, Mifflin Co. (his second wife), and they had nine or ten children together.  His parents were Daniel and Lydia Ellen (Ernest) Miller of Mexico, Juniata Co., PA., where he was born on 16 July 1879.  His death was on 19 August 1961, at Belleville, Mifflin Co.

Descendant note:
My BIGELOW data is currently in the form of notes and letters collected by my great grandmother Adda Timmons MOSS in the 1890's. Perhaps of greatest interest to you and other researchers is a copy she made of notes of an interview with Dr. Eliphaz BIGELOW (probably the Israel Eliphaz Bigelow whose bio is on your site.) He was a nephew of her grandmother Mary Milvina BIGELOW who had married William D. Daugherty. Her mother was Mary Dimmis Daugherty. Adda's uncle G. W. Darety (sic) conducted the interview. The notes include the family information on the CUSTIS (not CURTIS) family and it's connection to George Washington. I have been amazed that the misspelling of this name as CURTIS persists. Most history books speak of the CUSTIS family relations to Washington. In my mother's possession is a cloisonne and pearl pin that is supposed to have been owned/worn by Martha Washington. I have no documentation of this but have heard of this and the CUSTIS family since I was a child. My grandfather, Adda's son had told the story. Finding the notes was both exciting and disappointing. Exciting because it leant credence to the pin's story; disappointing because it showed no direct relation to the CUSTIS family. Eliphaz's notes also include the battle his greatgrandfather Isaac was supposed to have been in the Rev War. I too, have had no luck finding his service.

  My gg-mother was Mary R. Bigelow, daughter of Lewis A. Bigelow;
  -m. John C. Rhiver (date?);
  -daughter, Beatrice L. Rhiver (my g-mother);
  -m. John Edward Kauffman, Jr. b.15 MAR 1913 (my g-father);
  Any information on this line, as the Bigelow trees I have seen all show Mary R. but not her descendants, and I can find nothing on the Rhivers or Kauffmans.

 Looking for connections with Mary R. Bigelow b.Jan. 1872, married John C. Rhiver in 1905 (b.1870) ( I also have her name as Mary B. Wolfe) she could have been married previously and using BIGELOW as her middle name. I don't have any proof of a prior marriage. Although she was abt 33 yrs. old when she married John.
Mary's parents were Lewis A. Bigelow and Mary C. Hoover.
John and Mary had 4 children: Thelma Bigelow (my grandmother), Lewis Pomeroy, Charles E.,and Beatrice. As
far as I can tell the family resided in Enola, PA.
I'm looking for info on the possible prior marriage to WOLFE and any connections to the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
