Obadiah ⁸ BIGELOW

 16228.315      Obadiah ⁸ Bigelow, son of Hiram ⁷ ( Joel ⁶  , Joel ⁵, Benjamin ⁴, Jonathan ³, Joshua², John¹) and Mary (ARMSTRONG) BIGELOW, was born at Tecumseh, Ontario on 04 December 1834 and married Lavina Davidson on 21 November 1857.  Lavinia was the daughter of Samuel and Anne (Patten) Davidson and born in Mariposa, Ontario on 14 October 1837.  With his brother he formed a co-partnership and succeeded to his father's business and continued the same for 30 years when he retired.  Both Obadiah and Lavinia died within a month of each other, she on 20 November 1912 and he on 15 December 1912 at Lindsay, Ontario.  Family records state he converted to Catholicism just before his death and is buried in Catholic cemetery, Lindsay, Ont, while Lavinia is buried at Riverside Cemetery.
