Edward Francis 9 BIGELOW


14261.3121   Edward Francis 9 BIGELOW, son of  Edward Lindley 8 ( John W. 7 , Jabez 6, John 5 , Joseph 4,Daniel 3, Daniel 2, John1 and Carrie (STRATTON) BIGELOW, was born 19 January 1868 in Worcester, MA. He began his career as a painter of locomotives and railcars, and in later life was an executive with Scientific Production Company, a paint manufacturing company headquartered in New York City. He married first, at an unknown date prior to 1894, Rachel R., and had two sons. Rachel died of influenza in April 1919 at the age of 48. Edward married second, Nellie Thomas on 20 June 1920. Nellie was born 04 December 1886 in Washington, DC. She graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in NYC (now the Columbia University School of Nursing) in 1911. Edward and Nellie had two sons and one daughter. Edward died 03 January 1962 in Huntington Station, NY. Nellie died 18 September 1986 in Bellevue, WA. (see below)

Robert 10 Bigelow
14261.31214     Robert 10 Bigelow, son of Edward Francis 9, was born September 25, 1922, in Nassau County, New York. He was a weatherman in the Army Air Corps during the Second W orId War, and graduated from Boston University in 1949 with a degree in journalism. He was a newspaper reporter, editor and columnist, primarily in New York, where he spent many years with the New York Post. From 1963 to 1974 he was an editor and columnist with the Honolulu Advertiser in Honolulu, Hawaii. He returned to work for the Post in 1976.
He married, first, Jeanne (private), in 1949, in Harwichport, Massachusetts. Jeanne was born December 25, 1921, in Littlestown, Pennsylvania. She graduated ftom Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1943, and received a master's degree in education from Boston University in 1949. Jeanne died August 20, 1971, in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Robert and Jeanne had one son, (private)
Robert married, second, Phyllis Ronnie, in 1973. They had no children.
Robert died January 5, 1985, in Queens, New York
