John Erle 9 BIGELOW

1592C.152A      John Erle 9 BIGELOW, son of John Emerson 8 ( Ebenezer 7 , Ebenezer 6 ,  Amasa 5 , Isaac 4, Isaac 3, Samuel 2, John1)  and  Hannah (BLENKHORN) BIGELOW, was born 14 January 1885 at Canning, Kings county, Nova Scotia. He married (1) 31 December 1906 Violet Cecelia Thomas, the daughter of Alfred and Ruth Swim (Kenny) Thomas. She was born 01 December 1888 at Kelley's Cove, NS and died 16 February 1969 at Halifax, NS. They had moved to Alberta, Canada, and were living there in 1910. They later returnd to Windsor, Hants co, NS, and lived in a Masonic nursing home there. John Erle died 08 November 1976 at Windsor, Hants co., Nova Scotia.  He was a postmaster. Violet was a Maternity home director and homemaker.

1592C.152A1     Ruth Hannah, b 13 Oct 1907 Canning; d 22 July 1995 Berwick, NS, Can; m 24 Nov 1934 Harold Leander Rand, who was a farmer and was a MP for a number of years (he was b 16 Feb 1896 Canning, the son of Harry and Charlotte Amelia (Latchey) Rand; d 15 Oct 1965 Canning); no children known.

1592C.152A2     Florence Emily, b ___ 1908 Canning; d _ Sept 1908 Canning; mentioned in Vol II pg 425.

1592C.152A3     Ralph Vernon, b 18 Oct 1916 Canning; d _____ ; m 17 Dec 1949 Oxana Kuchurian in Toronto, Ont; moved to Vancouver; 2 children: Terry Ann Motiuk Watt and Paula Jean Woolley.

Comments: My,father DOB 07-28-1896 was born in Clarkes Harbour Nova Scotia..I have reason to believe his real name
was Ralph Thomas, however he took his uncles name Percy Ralph Kenney when he went to live with his sister and her
husband in 1910/11 in Alberta Ca. His sister and husband returned to NS and remained . Their name was Earle Bigelow and
Violet Bigelow and they spent many years at the Masonic nursing home in Windsor NS. They had 2 children named
Vernon and Ruth. Vernon married and moved to Vancouver, Ruth remained and married a gentleman who was a farmer and
was a MP for a number of years. Prior to moving to the Masonic I believe Earle and Violet lived in Sheffield or Sheffield Hills

Thank you once more for your help!!!! Seems like the results you just forwarded to me RE: John Earle Bigelow
does indeed reference Uncle Earle and Aunt  Violet and the marriage date is about the time frame they went to Alberta. Dad was born  07-28-1896/ he said . Seems he ran away to live with her and Earle in Alberta, prior to (lying) about his age joined the army and went to Germany etc. I sent 3 e-mails to Hon. Robert Northup however his E-Mail address is not recognized ( gins@ra.isisnet.com) maybe it's gisra@isisnet.com ?? printed the note to him and will fax it to him.
