He married on 07 March 1894 Edith Pearl Phelps and they either separated or divorced. She was born 21 February 1876 in Strawberry Point, Clayton co, IA and died 29 May 1969. Otis died 24 August 1945 at Edgewood, Iowa.

Otis Arthur's marriage date and changes in numbering by Bigelow Society librarian in addendum 1996 from Loring Bigelow, editor of Vol. II; Loring L. Bigelow, on 18 Apr 2001 wrote Otis Arthur and wife Edith either separated or divorced (have no record) and Edith moved to Michigan with 3 of the children and Otis Arthur remained in Iowa with the other 3 children. Do not believe either married a 2nd time. Have information on their children.

I have been trying to find my lineage but I'm having troubles. My middle name is Otis, and according to my dad it has been passed down many generations. I don't have contact with my dad or grandpa, and I don't think they have much interest in our lineage anyways (not the biggest family oriented people you'll meet). So I was wondering if you have any idea on where the Otis Bigelow's stem from.

Services for Jessie F. DeMoss, 86, of Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood will be 2 p,m. Thursday at Clifton's Funeral Home, Earlville; burial in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville; she died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday (March 3) at Delaware County Memorial Hospital., Manchester; survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Earlville and Oakland of Fort Smith; Ark.;, a daughter, Darlene Grazier of Berlin, Md.; nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grand children; and a sister, Bernice Penhollow, of Kalamazoo, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John,on Jan 20, 1967; a daughter, Donna; two, brother Charles Bigelow and Chester Bigelow; and two sisters, Emma Holroyd and Gladys Bunce; friends may call at the funeral home; Mrs. DeMoss had been employed at a sewing factory in Anamosa and at Bolings Nursing Home, Manchester.

John Lloyd DeMoss, 90, of Earlville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, in his home. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Clifton funeral home, Earlville, Burial was In Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
John, son of John Leroy and Mary Ann Clark DeMoss, was born in Jackson county Feb. 9, 1896. He attended rural school Maquoketa. He married Jessie Fremont Aug. 21, 1918 in Manchester. He lived in the Lamont area where he farmed and operated a gas station. They moved to Independence until 1941 and then moved to Earlville. He worked at a Ford garage in Manchester during World War II. He worked at the Reformatory in Anamosa from 1945-61 until retirement. Survivors include his wife of the Edgewood Convalescent home; two sons: Kenneth of Earlville and Oakland of Fort Smith, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Darlene) Grazier of Berlin, Md.; nine grand-children; 22, great grand-children; and a sister, Ina Moser of Strawberry Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Donna, in 1921; a sister, Laura Schader; and seven brothers, David, Richard, Oscar, Parley, Royal, Azaria and Cecil. Clifton funeral home in Earlville was in charge of arrangements.
