Comments: Hello, Rod. Last Sunday (5/13/07) I was at Grove Hill Cemetery in Waltham MA and came across the graves for Samuel Hastings and Abigail Bigelow. From the gravestones I could see the incredibly sad story of the loss of their five children, three within just 11 days, and I googled them now and came upon your site. I noticed that you didn't have a month for Samuel Hastings's death; it was September 1803. Samuel and Abigail's 5th child had been born about two weeks earlier, and then he (the baby) died in December of that year. I was struck by the fact that this woman lived to be 94 - so many years to mourn the loss of her five children. All this on Mother's Day, so especially poignant for me, as a mother myself! I hope having that month (Sept.) is helpful to you. If you ever want me to check anything in cemeteries around here, please let me know. My father is a geneologist as well!
Take care,
Margo Miller
