I believe you have hit the Jackpot with what you have on Ethan Bigelow.
The Ethan that was born in 1833 and was married to Paulina Hare seems to
be my great, great, great grandfather.I would appreciate any info you may
have on his father,
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your rapid response to my
inquiry about Ethan Cook Bigelow. ( I did not know that his middle name was
Cook until I received your message. My info was gained from my grandmothers
bible. We have him being born in Halifax, Vt. in 1834. Having a total of five
children. Most of his children have the middle name of Sumner. His mate was
Paulina Hare b..Kentucky 1841. His youngest son was Willis Bigelow
b..1867. When I was a young lad, I recall
Willis living with us for a short time before his demise. Because of the
name Sumner being given to many of his children, I feel that there must be
a correlation with the other Bigelows from that area at that time.Notably
Thomas Sumner Bigelow who, because of his age could have been Ethans father,
I seemed to have reached an empasse with finding Ethans father. Ethan died
in and was buried at Chillicothe, Illinois. (by your records in 1902.
) Whatever else you may have that will lead me in the right direction I
would very much appreciate. I must, at this time congratulate you on having
by far the best internet page
that I have ever seen. I can see the time and effort that you must devote
to this love. I will also tell you that it has been a driving influence on
me to continue my quest for furthur knowledge of my heritage.
