William 6 BIGELOW

15145.7     William  6 BIGELOW, son of  John 5 ( John 4, John 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Mary ( ___ ) BIGELOW was born 1 Apr 1784 at Cummington, Hampshire county, MA. He served in the War of 1812 as a Lieutenant, following which he moved to the south. There he married Susannah Wilson. In 1850 they were living in Montgomery county, NC, where he spent the major portion of his life. We have no death date for either William or Susannah, but Howe's Bigelow genealogy states she died in Missouri, having followed one of her sons there after William's death.

Howe's Bigelow genealogy states there were six children, of whom we have learned the names of seven:

15145.71      Aurelius Deloni (Delony), b ___ 1820; d ___ 1872; m ca 1860 Margaret McLellan (1832- 1880?); 7 children.

15145.72t     William Henry, b ca 1822; d ca 1853 TX (he was in Rockingharn, NC in 1850); m Theresa Moody. 5 sons.

15145.73      Mary Jane, probably married or deceased by 1850.

15145.74t     John W., b ca 1826; was living Drew co, AR .1850 and 1860; m Harriet _____ .

15145.75t     Lyman Lawrence, b 16 Nov 1828; d 1859 in a tornado at Lacey, Drew co, AR; m 27 Feb 1856 Mary Perry. 2 children.

I studied your database and thought that William  BIGELOW, son of John, (John , Samuel, John) BIGELOW  might be the parents of Hiram Wilson for these reasons......
birth in North Carolina, name of  Wilson, birth date of 1831, the comment that there were said to be six children,  William had received script warrant (War of 1812) in Arkansas (Bureau of Land Management records (issue date November 27, 1820),  sons of William appear to have been in TN, then on to AR,  oral information that Hiram Wilson had a brother (perhaps William Henry BIGELOW) that left and was never heard from again (my father thought to fight in Civil War).
I realize that I need the 1840 North Carolina Census but our local library's microfilm is not readable.
Thanks so much for letting me send the information I have and for any help you may be able to give me.  I will start with the things I have documented....
