Albert Edson ⁸ BIGELOW

16164.A11 Albert Edson ⁸ BIGELOW, son of William Carlos ⁷ ( Amos ⁶, Nathan ⁵, John ⁴, Joshua ³, Joshua ², John ¹), and Sally Ann (PRINDLE) BIGELOW, was born at Redford; Wayne, MI, on 13 July 1840. He married twice. The first marriage was on 14 February 1865 to Jennie (Mary Ann) Ashcroft who was born in Montpelier, VT and was the daughter of Charles and Martha ( )Ashcroft. She died on 02 January 1875 and he married Lucia L. Pierce on 05 October 1876. At least one family record gives a third mariage on 17 August 1882 to a Lydia A. Houk. Albert served in the Civil War in Co. I, 24th Regt. MI Vols., in 1862. He was twice wounded and received an honorable discharge. He was a lumberman in Detroit for over twenty years and died at Redford on 15 June 1915. They were Baptist.

16164.A111 Charles Andrew, was born Redford, Wayne co., MI on 10 June 1866. On 11 Oct 1887 he married Minnie A. Durkee. He was three times elected president of the Michigan Hardwood Lumber Mfg. Association. By his practical accomplishments in lumbering, he has more than measured up to the dignity of his official honor. For more than 30 years, beginning in early childhood, he has been identified with the lumber business. Long articles about him are in the Bigelow Library.
