Carroll's lineage: Carroll Alexander 10 BIGELOW, ( LeRoy 9,William Henry 8 , Ransom 7 , Jonathan Oakes 6 , Nathan 5, John 4, Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1)

Carroll Alexander 10 BIGELOW,  long time Bigelow Society member and Director from 1978 to 1984, passed away, in Seattle, WA on April 26, 1991. He had been hospitalized for several months With pneumonia and lung disease. He also had had a slight stroke. He is survived by his widow, Ellen, of Seattle and daughter Mrs. Ruth Anne JACOBS, of Laguna Niguel, CA.

Carroll was born in Seattle on 19 March 1908. His mother died when he was a little over a year old and as his father was an engineer and traveled a lot, Carroll was raised by his grandparents. He was a "Crown Pointer" BIGELOW by heritage, coming from that large family of BIGELOWS of Crown Point, New York, who migrated from Massachusetts to New York at the close of the Revolution, after a few years in Vermont.

Carroll was retired from Boeing Aircraft Company, having been an aviation metalsmith there from 1934 until retirement in 1972, He loved to hunt and for a long time was an expert trap-shooter, It is thought that his years of trap-shooting led to his profound deafness in later years - no ear protection was used in those earlier days.
