Lucille Obituary
     The funeral Mass for Lucille Mae Shiek will be 11 a.m Monday, March 21, 2011, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview, with Father Thien Nguyen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery.
     Mrs. Shiek, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview.
     Lucille was born on Nov. 16, 1917, in Elgin, to Howard and Mathilda (Schad) Bigelow. She graduated from Elgin High School. On Oct. 21, 1939, she married Raymond Shiek at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview. They farmed in the Kellogg area until moving to Plainview in 1983. They wintered in Texas for many years.
     Lucille was a longtime member of the Cheerio Club, Catholic Daughters, Farm Bureau, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Conception, Minn., and a member of the St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview
     She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (Dennis) Sullivan, Kellogg, Margaret (Alan) Huberty, Danbury, Wis., Janice (David) Marshik, Plainview, Linda (Gary) Kobilarcsik, Plainview, Suzan Rief, Buffalo, Minn., and Barbara Bartz, Kewaskum, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Marion (George) Tung, Denver, Colo., and Irene Orr, Houston, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law.
     Casketbearers are Mrs. Shiek's grandsons, Tim Sullivan, David Houghton, Doug Houghton, Curt Kobilarcsik, John Rief, and Anthony Bartz. Honorary casketbearers are granddaughters, Carla Greenan, Deanna Ploederl, Diane Fjelstad, Donna Wurl, Collyn Iblings, Debra Houghton and Jennifer Duffy.
