William H. 8 BIGELOW



16164.953     William H. 8 BIGELOW, son of John W. 7 ( Joseph 6 , Nathan 5, John 4, Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Maryette (FISH) BIGELOW, was born at Moriah, NY on 14 November 1848 and married Alice M. McGinn on 08 September 1875.  She was born in Ireland on 06 January 1846, the dau of Jeffrey McGinn.  This family resided at Port Henry, NY.  It is interesting to note that William changed the "e" in his surname to "a" at his marriage, becoming Bigalow.(see below)  Alice died in 1918 at Port Henry.  William died in 1928 or 1929. Both are buried St. Patrick's Cemetery, Port Henry, Essex co, NY.

Note2:
William changed the spelling of his name to Bigalow when he married Alice. Also, my mother, Georgeanne is the daughter of Frank (Francis Edgar) and his second wife, Mary Donahue.  Please note that my mother is living.

I descend from John 1--through Joshua 2, Joshua 3, John 4, Nathan 5, Joseph 6, John 7, William 8, who married an Irish Catholic, Alice Maginn in Port Henry, Essex, NY and was disowned by the family, so he changed the spelling to Bigalow, Frank (Francis Edgar) 9, Georgeanne 10, married John Grant Slack, my parents.
